Unstoppable! World Champion! Fernando Pimenta, Benfica athlete, won this Wednesday, September 4, the K1 short distance event (3,6 km), at the Marathon World Championships in Gyor, Hungary.

In the race, Fernando Pimenta (13:37.11 minutes) fought to the limit with Denmark's Mads Brandt Pedersen (13:38.03 minutes) and ultimately prevailed in yet another display of class. The Portuguese José Ramalho completed the podium (13:47.38 minutes).

Welcome, Lukebakio!

Signed a contract with Sport Lisboa e Benfica on the evening of September 1, the closing date of the summer transfer window in the 2025/26 Liga Portugal, and the following morning he began working at Benfica Campus. Lukebakio was welcomed by coach Bruno Lage, general director of professional football Mário Branco, technical director Simão Sabrosa, and his new teammates (except, of course, those who are on duty with their respective national teams at this stage of the season).
