This Tuesday, May 27, the Benfica Foundation and Sport Lisboa e Benfica marked World Children's Day with the participation of more than 1,500 young people. Between the Estádio da Luz pitch and the pavilions, there were fun, educational and sporting activities, with the contribution of the various sports and the partners of the Club and the Foundation. Lively, with everything designed to stimulate the children and provide them with different experiences, this was a “very special” moment, as Jorge Miranda, director of the Foundation, told BTV. "We couldn't miss the opportunity to have an unforgettable day," he said. Representing the Almeirim Karting Circuit, Tiago Evaristo stressed the importance of “road education”. Having celebrated their fourth national championship, Benfica met Madeira SAD on Sunday, May 25, in the final of the Portuguese Cup. With a 27-19, the Eagles won the 9th trophy of the women's handball Portuguese Cup in the Club's history. Sunday, May 25, saw the 2025 Portuguese Cup final between Benfica and Sporting. At the Estadio Nacional, with a spectacular crowd in attendance, the Eagles had to go to extra time (1-3) after Kökcü (47') and Gyokëres (90'+11' pk) had drawn the derby in regulation time (1-1).
On Saturday, May 24, Benfica's professional football team held another training session at the Benfica Campus with a view to the derby with Sporting at the Estadio Nacional. The Portuguese Cup final clash is scheduled for Sunday, May 25, at 5:15 pm.
