An icon of Benfica and Portuguese judo, Telma Monteiro donated the kimono she wore in her last competition for the club, specifically the National Club Championship in October 2024, which earned her the women's title, to the Benfica Museum – Cosme Damião. The judoka also donated the belt she wore during her last Olympic cycle. “It's the place where it makes the most sense to stay, leaving a little of my legacy, preserving my history with Benfica,” said Telma Monteiro.
This Tuesday, May 27, the Benfica Foundation and Sport Lisboa e Benfica marked World Children's Day with the participation of more than 1,500 young people. Between the Estádio da Luz pitch and the pavilions, there were fun, educational and sporting activities, with the contribution of the various sports and the partners of the Club and the Foundation. Lively, with everything designed to stimulate the children and provide them with different experiences, this was a “very special” moment, as Jorge Miranda, director of the Foundation, told BTV. Having celebrated their fourth national championship, Benfica met Madeira SAD on Sunday, May 25, in the final of the Portuguese Cup.
