A bronze João Pereira at the Triathlon World Cup in Salinas


The athlete from SL Benfica climbed on to the podium in the competition held in Ecuador.

João Pereira, the triathlete from Sport Lisboa e Benfica, finished in the 3rd place at the Triathlon World Cup in Salinas and finished the competition with the total time of 52’24s, two more seconds than the Brazilian Manoel Messias (runner-up) and three more seconds than the winner, the Spaniard David Castro.

Another excellent result for the athlete, after winning the Bronze Medal in Sarasota.

Another two athletes from SL Benfica were in the competition: Vasco Vilaça finished in the 14th position, and Miguel Arraiolos, after a fall, finished in 46th.

The athletes carried out 750 meters of swimming, 20 kilometers of cycling and a 5 km run.
