Benfica Campus Technical Area Kick-Off

The 6th edition of the Women's Elite Training Camps - which took place from July 20 to 26 at Benfica Campus – was attended by 40 young women between the ages of 12 and 19 from 14 different countries. Coordinator Tiago Silva spoke to BTV about the club's growing reputation. "Women's football continues to grow, we've surpassed the number of nationalities... We're doing a good job, we've raised Benfica's name to more countries," he said. Athletes Natalie Sheffey and Liana Fontes highlighted the fact that they had “learned from the best of the best”. Coach João Ferreira was satisfied: “We managed to apply our training methodology very well.”

The final curtain fell on the 15th edition of Elite Training Camps after three weeks that once again demonstrated the success of the initiative. This year, around 350 young people from 48 different countries worked and developed their skills using Benfica's training methodology, with the participation of coaches and their respective programs at Benfica Campus. "The overall assessment is positive. It is recognition of the work done by the coaches throughout the year and that Benfica’s image and brand are growing internationally," Tiago Silva, coordinator of Elite Training Camps, told BTV. Next up is the women's football edition, which will last a week and feature athletes from destinations such as “Thailand, the United States, and Canada,” as well as “many Portuguese players.” “Women's football is growing a lot,” concluded Tiago Silva.
