With the thrashing of Marítimo (5-0) at home, Rui Vitória reached the 100th triumph for Benfica in official matches.

The coach has reached this mark in 27 incomplete months of competition (we deduct the holiday period and the pre-season of June and July 2016 and 2017), which translates in an average of nearly four victories per month.

To build this round figure, Rui Vitória led the eagles in five different competitions (four domestic and one international). Naturally, the lion's share of successes corresponds to the participation and the team's performance in the Liga NOS, where the reds, in this period, bagged 73 victories.

In this ranking of successes, the Portuguese Cup comes in the second place: nine victories. In the following line, we have two competitions: the Champions League and the League Cup, with eight victories in each front. In the bottom of the table comes the Super Cup, with two victories.

Benfica-Estoril

1st VICTORY

  • Nélson Semedo unveiled and with instant impact

On August 16, 2015, 53 285 spectators witnessed at Estádio da Luz the first triumph of Rui Vitória for Benfica. In the opening round of the 2015/16 edition of Liga NOS, the eagles beat Estoril by 4-0, with Nélson Semedo, the right-back launched by the coach, sealing the score with his first goal for the first team.

Benfica-Zenit

25th VICTORY

  • Open door to the "quarters" of the Champions League

Estádio da Luz full of hope in the first leg of the eighth-finals of the Champions League, on February 16, 2016, in the home match against Zenit. In the dying moments of the match, Jonas sealed the 1-0. In the second leg, Benfica also won in Saint Petersburg (1-2), going through to the quarter-finals of the competition.

Belenenses-Benfica

50th VICTORY

  • Guedes growing, growing and growing..

Rui Vitória trusted in Gonçalo Guedes, accommodated him in the team and in the right moment gave him wings to establish himself in the higher level of the Portuguese football.  It was from the feet of the Portuguese international that came the pass for the goal (scored by Grimaldo) that sealed the fiftieth triumph of Benfica (0-2) under Rui Vitória, on October 23, 2016, in Gameweek 8 of the Liga NOS, at Estádio do Restelo.

Benfica-Estoril

75th VICTORY

  • A firm step towards the Four title in a row

In one of the finals steps for the winning of the Fourth consecutive league title, Benfica beat Estoril (2-1) on April 29, 2017, in Gameweek 31 of the 2016/17 Liga NOS, with nearly 60 thousand fans at Estádio da Luz. In Rui Vitória's 75th triumph at Benfica, Jonas was the standout performer, scoring two goals (one in the conversion of a penalty kick and the other with long-range screamer).

Benfica-Marítimo

100th VICTORY

  • Great display in the pursuit

The victory number 100 is still fresh on everyone's mind. On the evening of March 3, 2018, Benfica put in a great performance at Estádio da Luz and beat Marítimo by 5-0, in round 25 of the Liga NOS, remaining in the pursuit of the top sport and the Fifth League Title in a row.
