João Marques is the coach of the women's football team of Benfica, that will begin the next season in the 2nd Division. After the announcement of four players, it was disclosed who will lead the red squad.

José João Teixeira Marques, a coach who in the last season led the women's football team of SC Braga to the 2nd place of the National Championship, was named by the reds to lead this new women's football project that, in 2018/19, will compete in the Promotion Championship. The coach was received, this Thursday, by the president of Sport Lisboa e Benfica, Luís Filipe Vieira, and by the vice-president Fernando Tavares. 

Up to now, there have been announced four signings for the women's squad: the Brazilian Dani Neuhaus and Daiane Rodrigues, and also the Portuguese Carlota Cristo and Jassie Vasconcelos.
