With a goal, the Brazilian forward helped the Reds secure the presence in the Champions League qualifiers.
13 May 2018, 20h36
“Personally, I am happy to be helping the team with goals. Collectively, we are sad we did not manage to win the National title, but we have a sense of achievement regarding the Champions League. Benfica can never stay out of a competition like this one. We had that objective and we achieved it with the strength of all”, said Jonas, in statements to BTV, he who was elected "Man of the Match".
Recovered from an injury, Jonas regretted not having been able to help the team for over a month, but he guarantees he is “100%”.
“No player wants to go through an injury. I had one that put me out of the football pitches for nearly one month and a half. But now I am fine, I am 100%”, he guaranteed.
The number 10 is not expecting, at this moment, being called-up for the Brazilian national team.
“It is difficult. To be honest I don't even think about that now. I am hoping for Brazil to make an excellent World Cup and I will be cheering for the title”, he finished.
