Nuno Pinheiro: “I hope it is the beginning of something very beautiful”

The volleyball department of Sport Lisboa e Benfica continues to prepare the next season. After announcing the Brazilian Marcel Matz as the new coach of the Reds for 2018/19, Bernardo Martins and Raphael Oliveira have already been secured as new signings, as well as Nuno Pinheiro.

“It is a dream, it is really the right word. It was something that would be unthinkable for me when I started playing volleyball. To be able to play at the club I love is something special for me”, started by saying the new signing, adding that this moment could have already happened earlier: “It was an old wish, I think that on part of the Club, but also on my part. It was an objective and huge ambition I had.  I am very excited and very motivated for what is coming”, explained Nuno Pinheiro.

After the press conference, the setter spoke to BTV about his first contact, leaving also a message to the supporters.

“It is a very good first contact. I hope it is the beginning of something very beautiful. I hope there has been a big follow-up from the supporters to the Volleyball department and I hope that that support continues because with them it all easier and they are the big strength of this club and I hope we can repay with good results and performances”, he finished.
