After four victories (Club Ford, Universidad de Chile, Coritiba and Palmeiras), and a draw (Athletic Bilbao), the SL Benfica went for the final to play against Real Madrid.

An intense match – just like a final is supposed to be – but with few chances to score. Miguel Ortega, at 59’, scored for the Spanish side, while the eagles' goal came at 79', by Luís Lopes, after a fantastic free-kick.

The result remained until the end of the 90m and the match was decided in the penalty shoot-out, where Real Madrid, with six successful shoots, against the Benfica's five, managed to get the victory.

Benfica's Line-up: Celton Biai, Luís Pinheiro, António Ribeiro, Gonçalo Loureiro, Nuno Tavares, Diogo Capitão, Tiago Dantas, Marko Martinovic, Rodrigo Conceição, Kevin Csoboth and Luís Lopes. Miguel Nóbrega, Jonathan Ogenda, Ricardo Matos and Tiago Araújo were also options during the match.
