“We want to win and above us all is Benfica”

The return to Estádio da Luz happens this Friday, with the four-time champions hosting CD Feirense, in a gem from Matchday 10 of I Liga, which starts at 7:00 pm.

After de large break in the domestic competitions, Benfica returned to the championship last Sunday, with a win by 1-3, at CD Aves. Three important points won at Vila das Aves and that Benfica wants to replicate on Friday in a Estádio da Luz which comemorated 14 years of existance on October 25_th.

“We want to make a good game, with a victory, obviously. It is going to be a tough match, against a team with attributes we should take into consideration; a cooperative squad, with simple processes, with a message fully identified with its coach. Therefore, on the Feirense team, we have studied it and we know everything, but tomorrow [Friday] is going to be different, "said the coach at a press conference.

“We are expecting a team exploring the counter-attack, provoking quick situations in the front, with fast players, intelligent in the defense/attack transitions . We are expecting a team that will work hard, but we know we have the capacity to win and that's what we want”, added Rui Vitória.

Estádio da Luz completed 14 years of existence last Wednesday, October 25th. Rui Vitória praises the home of the four-time champions, a stadium “with power, strength and magic”.

“It's a source of pride and satisfaction. It is a beautiful stadium, with a huge environment, with an energy that everybody wants to participate, and this is very important for the Benfica universe. This engagement gives our team a sense of great power and strength and that weakens the opponents. Estádio da Luz has that magic. We want to win, because the record is even better with a victory”, he said.

Luis Godinho will give the initial whistle to the SL Benfica-CD Feirense at 7:00 pm.
