Marcin Lewandowski, a Benfica athlete, won the 1500 meters final in the European Athletics Indoor Championships, in Scotland, and became two-time European champions in the distance, running for the Polish national team.

In the final race, in Glasgow, Marcin Lewandowski completed the 1500 meters in 3:42.85 and won the gold medal. The podium was rounded off by the Norwegian Jakob Ingebrigtsen (3:43.23), in second, and the Spaniard Jesús Gómez (3:44.39), in third.
