After scoring two goals and providing one assist in Benfica's triumph in Braga, the number 21 is already the most influential player in the 2018/19 Liga NOS.
28 April 2019, 20h37
The Benfica midfielder, who has already racked up 12 goals and 18 assists in the 2018/19 Liga NOS, stats that turn him into the most influential player of the competition, was elected the Man of the Match.
“We faced a great team, with excellent players. We knew it was going to be a very difficult match, that Braga would enter the match on the front foot, but our reaction in the second half was fantastic. We tried to turn the result around since the first minute. Fortunately, we managed to have ball possession with a lot of class, to control the second half and we put in another excellent performance”, claimed Pizzi.
The number 21 recalled that despite the victory in the second of five finals, nothing is guaranteed and that there is still a long way to go.
“We would like to have played better in the first half, but I think that the second half was of a categorical level. We've shown that we're well, very strong and now we must think about the three finals that are left to play, because even though we won on a very difficult ground nothing is yet decided”, said the Portuguese international.
