Thank you, João Marques!

Sport Lisboa e Benfica informs that the contractual link with the coach of the women's football team, João Marques, ceases at the end of this month and it will not be extended.

With the main objectives set by the Board achieved – winning the Portuguese Cup, securing promotion to the 1st Division and the 2nd Division title –, and after a considered and timely decision communicated to the coach, the Club understands that it is time to assume a change of cycle.

João Marques is linked to a truly historic season, in a year of great investment by SL Benfica in the women’s football team, with a noticeable sporting and media impact.

The Clube praises and thanks João Marques for his active role in a successful journey shared with the coaching staff and all the footballers who were part of the working group in 2018/19.
