After concluding the renewal process with the President Luís Filipe Vieira, Cervi spoke about this progress in his career.
"I’m very happy with the contract extension. I feel honored on deserving the Club’s trust on my work. It brings me more confidence to keep working for this big Club. Extra responsibility? The very first day you wear this jersey you already have an enormous responsibility. Benfica is a club that deserves to be on top", assumed Cervi.
Currently, starting the third season with the red jersey, the Argentinian already knows how to explain what Benfica really is. "In the last two seasons I have learnt a lot. I also tell many things to the Argentinian who eventually do not have the perception of how big this club is. I already know a lot about Benfica", highlighted the left-footed.
In the last week and a half, Cervi became international with Argentina, participating in two matches. "Benfica was very important to come to this point. It helps a lot to be in such a great Club. I’m very happy with my debut at the Argentinian National team, because it was also a dream come true. A different experience, just like when I started to play in the 1st division. I tried to enjoy the moment and it is something I will never forget", he revealed.
Cervi’s goals at Benfica are clear. "This Club deserves to have all of me when I’m on the field, thinking about winning the titles which Benfica is used to achieve", highlighted.
Cervi already scored 12 times with the Sacred Mantle. "To score is a wonderful feeling, hard to explain. It’s a unique sensation to see everybody celebrating your goal, even more at Estádio da Luz", confessed when watching his shots touching the net.
The left-footed elected his three best goals at Benfica. The first was even scored with the right foot. "It was in my official debut with the red jersey. To play the Super Cup and score was a very important moment for me and it will last forever on my mind. After that, the goal I scored against Paços de Ferreira [at Estádio da Luz], also because of its beauty. And the free-kick [away against Portimonense, also in 2017/18", concluded the player.
