Odysseas, Benfica's goalkeeper, made his debut for the Greek national team on Thursday evening. The Eagles' number 1 jersey featured in the starting lineup fielded by the new Greek national coach, Angelos Anastasiadis, for the clash against Finland in Athens, for Group 2 of the Nations League (C).

After being allowed to represent the Greek national coach (he also has German citizenship), Odysseas was called up for the two matches from the Greeks in the Nations League.

In a match controlled by Greece, Odysseas, another player who got his first senior cap after standing out with the Sacred Mantle, was exemplary in the moments he had to intervene, keeping a clean sheet and thus contributing for the triumph of his national team by 1-0 (own goal from Granlund at 25') against Finland.
