Eight benfiquistas in the draw from the U-17 National Team

Eight players from Benfica were fielded in the debut match from the U-17 National Team in the Nike Tournament, in Florida. The match against the United States finished with a draw (1-1).

Samuel Soares, Rafael Rodrigues, Tomás Araújo, Rafael Brito, Paulo Bernardo, and Henrique Pereira were the (six) players from Benfica chosen by the coach Emílio Peixe to play as starters.

In the second half, two more athletes from the Reds came on: Gerson Sousa (55') and Filipe Cruz (70').

Portugal plays again on Friday, November 30, at 8:30 pm (Portuguese time), against Brazil in the 2nd round.
