Caixa Futebol Campus: global seal of quality

Benfica's factory of talents was distinguished as the Academy of the Year on December 27, 2015, at the "Globe Soccer Awards".

December 27, 2015: three years ago Caixa Futebol Campus was distinguished with the award “Best Academy of the Year”, in the 7th edition of the Globe Soccer Awards, in Dubai.

The prize was handed over to the Chairman Luís Filipe Vieira, who was largely responsible for the creation and construction of Caixa Futebol Campus, which opened on September 22, 2006.

"It is an award for the vision we had and for the strong investment in the youth training. It is an award for the great desire of having more and more youngster nurtured in Seixal in our first team, something that had not happened in decades. We are increasingly going to invest in innovation", claimed Luís Filipe Vieira at the awards ceremony on 27 December 2015.

One of the biggest proofs this project's success is reflected in the number of players "made in" Caixa Futebol Campus who play at the highest level in Europe's Top 5 leagues (Spain, England, Italy, Germany and France).

Apart from this proof, Benfica is repeatedly the most represented club in the squad lists of the different categories from the National team.

The importance of Globe Soccer Awards

The Globe Soccer Awards, as the name indicates, are the golden globes of world football. Based in Dubai, these awards highlight the performances and achievements of all football parties involved on and off the pitch.

The award given to Benfica was also the worldwide recognition of Caixa Futebol Campus as a winning project.
