Women's football
The former Benfica player moves from the coordination of the women's football youth development sector to the helm of the first team in the 2019/20 season.
02 July 2019, 16h21
“It is with great pride that I accept this invitation to take on the responsibility of the women’s football first team. I will work hard to achieve all the goals proposed by the Board”, started by saying Luís Andrade, in statements with BTV.
“As an athlete, I have always dignified all the clubs I’ve represented and as a coach, I’ll do everything I can and pass all my experience on to my players”, he added.
With the women' football team promotion to the First Division, Luís Andrade warns of the hard work that has to be done.
“We are going to the top flight, where the teams are more organized, and we have to be cautious about that. We're going to work day in and day out to make it to the weekends and not think about routs, but about clinching the three points ”, he said.
With a long career and experience in professional football, Luís Andrade, as a player, wore the Sacred Mantle and represented Benfica from 1998 to 2003. In that period, the versatile defender/midfielder made his debut on October 4, 1998, in a match against V. Guimarães, in Minho, in which he played 90 minutes and the Reds won by 0-2.
