Announcement to the CMVM

Sport Lisboa e Benfica - Futebol, SAD communicated, on Wednesday, to the Portuguese Securities Market Commission that it has reached an agreement with Club Atlético de Madrid, SAD for the transfer of the sports rights of the player João Félix for 126 million euros.

In the information provided to the CMVM, Benfica explains that Atlético de Madrid "will promptly pay an amount of 30 million euros and that Benfica SAD will carry out a discount operation without recourse of the remaining 96 million euros, and the financial costs associated with this operation will be 6 million euros”, further detailing that, “this way, Benfica SAD guarantees the receipt of 120 million euros at the time of the player transfer”.

“Finally, it should be noted that the charges for intermediation services for this transfer amount to 12 million euros and that Club Atlético de Madrid, SAD will be responsible for the payment of the value of the Solidarity Mechanism due to third party clubs, which cannot be deducted from the transfer amount agreed with Benfica SAD mentioned above”, ends the document, which can be read in full here.
