“It's a very special day. It's been a very good journey at Benfica. This is the recognition of the work I've been doing for the last year and a half”, he claimed, in statements with BTV.
Born on January 19, 2002, the athlete is a U-19 player and is carrying out his 2nd season with an eagle on his chest. In his debut season, with the U-17s, he scored 37 goals in 33 matches. Currently, he is the U-19s top scorer in the National Championship, with 15 goals.
Despite being just 18 years old, the forward already made his debut with the Club U-23s, where he has scored twice. He also played four matches in the UEFA Youth League.
“The dream is to play at Estádio da Luz, in Benfica's first team. That's what we all want, as well as reaching big stages”, added Henrique Araújo.
He made his international debut with Portugal's youth teams this season. He has 3 caps for the U-18s, amassed at the Limoges Tournament, in France (September 2019).
