The futsalplanet.com announced, this Thursday (March 26), the winners of the best of the world awards in the sport in 2019. Joel Rocha, Fifó e Ana Catarina, do Sport Lisboa e Benfica, appear in the top spots in the different categories.

The coach of Benfica's men's futsal team, Joel Rocha is among the four most voted (4th place) for Best Coach of 2019, a category that was won by Andreu Álvarez, the Barcelona coach.

In the category of the Best Player of the world, Fifó, the winger of the Clube da Luz and Women's national team, was considered the third best of 2019 (the same place as in 2018). The Brazilian Amandinha secured the first place.

Ana Catarina, the goalkeeper from SL Benfica and National team, the winner in her category in the last edition (2018), finished in 2nd place as the Best female goalkeeper of the World, behind the Spaniard Sílvia Outón.

US Youth Futsal learnt from a reference

SL Benfica hosted in the pavilions, on December 28 and 29, athletes from the USA national youth teams, men’s, and women’s, who were able to experience the eagles’ training methods. 100 players participated in an initiative praised by Brian Catrine, coach of the US Youth Futsal 2007 team. "It was a great experience, we learnt from one of the greatest futsal programs in the world", said, to BTV.
