Captain of Benfica's volleyball team and doctor, Hugo Gaspar is on the front line of the battle that Portugal and the world are waging with the COVID-19 pandemic.

Isolated from his wife and children, living alone in an apartment and dedicated exclusively to his 1800 patients in Lisbon. This is how Hugo Gaspar has been living this pandemic crisis.

Hugo Gaspar said that this pandemic will bring financial but also psychological problems. "I also do family follow-up and I do not doubt that new diseases will emerge due to this isolation and this extensive quarantine. The families' economic problems will lead to many health problems", he told the EFE agency.

At the sports level, the opposite hitter of Benfica's volleyball team believes that "society will return to normality", although he is aware that "both clubs and athletes will have to face a crisis" which "will be overcome".

Hugo Gaspar continues to take an hour every day to carry out his physical workouts. "The athletes cannot give up, and training is also a way to clear the mind", he confessed.
