Temporary amendment of Law 3

  • Each team will be allowed a maximum of five substitutions;
  • To reduce interruptions in the match, each team will have a maximum of three opportunities to make substitutions during the match; substitutions can also be made during halftime;
  • If both teams made a substitution at the same time, it will count as one of three interruptions for each team;
  • Unused substitutions and interruptions are carried to extra time;
  • In the case of competitions that already allowed an extra substitution in the extra time, the teams will have one more substitution to do; substitutions can also be made before the start of the extra time, or at half-time.
