Grimaldo: "I spend many years training and taking free kicks"

From the Grimaldo' left foot, in the opening round of the 2020/21 Liga NOS, came out the Benfica Goal of the Month in September, according to the fans' vote on the Official Website.

"I think it was a beautiful goal, but the most important thing was the win [by 1-5] in that match [in Famalicão]. And that there may be more goals, mine and the team's, from now on", commented Grimaldo in an exclusive interview with BPlay.

The set pieces (free kicks and corners) are part of the set of characteristics that allow tracing Grimaldo's football profile.

"I spend many year training and taking free kicks. It wasn't the first goal I scored and I believe that, in the end, it's a bit of concentration, technique and training.", explained the player. 

At 8 pm on Sunday, in Vila do Conde, Rio Ave's home ground, Benfica resumes the 2020/21 Liga NOS campaign.

"To win! As in every match, Benfica must win. We have been working hard during this international break. The match [against Rio Ave] will be very difficult. I am at Benfica for five years now, every time we go there [Vila do Conde] it is always very complicate. We expect the same, but the team is very confident and motivated to get all three points", stressed Grimaldo.
