Jorge Jesus: "Continue the journey and regain the first place"

Jorge Jesus outlined, in a press conference carried out at Benfica Campus, the scenario of what will be the first match of the year for Benfica, on matchday 12 of the Liga NOS.

What do you expect from this match, knowing that Santa Clara beat Benfica at Estádio da Luz last season? Since this is the first match of 2021, what is your greatest wish for this year?

Answering the second question... what we all want for 2021 will be our intellectual and physical freedom, which has to do with the pandemic. We all want this to get out of our lives. It is what I want the most. As far as the match is concerned, the expectations are always the same: Benfica always plays with the prospect of winning but we know that the opponent that will will face in the Azores is difficult. So, our idea is to continue the journey and regain the first place. I don't know when, but as soon as possible.

Pizzi returns to the squad, after being infected with COVID-19? We are close to the Winter transfer market... Pizzi is a key player for the team?

Pizzi is a key player for the team. For what he has represented this year and for what he has represented in the other years when I was not here, he is an important player in the team.  Today, in the market, anywhere in the world there is nothing that is safe, but I count on Pizzi at 100 percent, no doubt.
