WELCOME, LETÍCIA!

Letícia, a 26-year-old Brazilian goalkeeper, is a new signing of the women's football team of Sport Lisboa e Benfica for 2020/21.

"It is a great honor to be here today. I left a big club in Brazil and today I'm wearing the Benfica jersey, which is also a big club in Portugal. I hope I can make history like I did at Corinthians", wished the Brazilian player, in a press conference held at Estádio da Luz.

Born in Rio de Janeiro, Letícia Izidoro Lima da Silva, known as Lelê in the world of women's football, is a reference in her position in Brazil. The Brazilian champion – who reached the milestone of 100 appearances for Corinthians in the final of the Campeonato Paulista – has already won two Copa Libertadores [2017 and 2019], two Brazilian National Titles [2018 and 2020] and one Copa do Brasil [2016], when she played for Osasco Audax.

"I needed new challenges in my career. I won everything I could have won in Brazil, and I needed this challenge... To have chosen Benfica in order to win more titles and make history in my career was very important", she claimed.
