The Sport Lisboa e Benfica women's futsal team is to be congratulated for winning, this afternoon, the first edition of the League Cup. The usual commitment, fair play, effort and ambition of our players, allied to their undeniable quality, made the dream of bringing this trophy to the Cosme Damião Museum possible.

It is fair to say, without any reservation, that this group represents, and well, the values of Benfica and the success that we aspire for all the teams and athletes that wear the Sacred Mantle. The women's futsal team has won every title played in recent years, is the current three-time national champion, winner of the last five Portuguese Cups, has not lost since May 2018 and, this season, has 17 wins in 17 games. Remarkable!

To the players, coaching staff, and the entire structure, on my behalf and behalf of Sport Lisboa e Benfica, I express our pride in your achievements and offer our congratulations for this particular success.

Benfica's professional football team began preparations for their clash with Auckland City on Friday, June 20, at 12 noon (5:00 pm continental time) at Inter&Co Stadium in Orlando, on matchday 2 of Group C of the 2025 Club World Cup with a two 30-minute halves training match against FC Naples on Tuesday, June 17. The Eagles won 2-1, with goals from Gonçalo Oliveira and Belotti.
