Another medal for Portugal and for an athlete of Sport Lisboa e Benfica! João Ribeiro earned the silver in the World Championships K1 500 final, in Denmark.

The canoeist of Benfica concluded the event (1:39,88) only 1 second behind the winner Mikita Borykau from Belarus (1:39,87). Moritz Florstedt was third (1:40,04 seconds).

Needing just one point to celebrate, Benfica's U19 team became champions after a 2-2 draw against FC Porto in round 13 of the championship round, and lifted the trophy on the pitch, celebrating afterward with the fans who were tireless in their support for Luís Araújo's team.
