Youth League: successful journey
There was only one step left and Benfica knew how to take it: they beat Dynamo Kyiv, in Seixal (1-0), and qualified for the last 16 of the UEFA Youth League, in the early hours of Wednesday afternoon, December 8. In six matches in group E, the team coached by Luís Castro won five, always keeping a clean sheet, and scored 14 goals. There was only one defeat and four goals conceded, in Kiev, on the opening day of a journey that would embrace success. The congratulations to the team were addressed personally by President Rui Costa in the dressing room, at Benfica Campus.

"Reinforcements" for the UEFA Youth League
Six players, who were part of the first team working group during the last stage of the 2019/20 Liga NOS, are again at Luís Castro's disposal. Leo Kokubo, Morato, Rafael Brito, Tiago Araújo, Paulo Bernardo and Tiago Dantas are available to face Dínamo Zagreb in the quarterfinal of the UEFA Youth League. The match is scheduled for August 18, at 5:00 pm, in Nyon (Switzerland).
Focused on the Youth League
Following UEFA's notification, giving a favorable opinion for the implementation of the Youth League final stage (August 18 to 25), Benfica U-19s were given the green light by the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF) to return to work, after proper authorization from the Directorate General of Health (DGS).
