Carole Costa scored, assisted and Portugal put their foot down against the champions
With four Benfica players in the starting XI, the women's national team faced the Netherlands, but did not avoid defeat (3-2) in the MD 2 of the EURO.

Carole Costa, one of the nine SL Benfica players in the squad list, scored the first goal and provided the assist for the second strike of the National Team, that lost on Wednesday night, July 13, against the Netherlands, the current holder of the European title, by 3-2, in a game of matchday 2 of the group stage of the women's Euro 2022.
Despite the result - which still gives the team coached by Francisco Neto the chance to move on in the competition - Portugal registered a good performance against the also current world vice-champions, having been down by two goals. Portugal faces Sweden in the final round of the group stage (July 17, at 5:00 pm).
