EXCLUSIVE STATEMENTS

Sport Lisboa e Benfica has renewed the contract of Morato, a player of the professional football squad. The center-back's contract has been extended for five years (until 2027).

The Best Defender of the Liga Bwin in August, in statements to  BTV,was "happy" to sign a new contract with Sport Lisboa e Benfica, he who began the 2022/23 season as a starter.

"I feel happy for Benfica's trust in my work and I can only repay them on the pitch", he said.

Morato

Sidelined due to the injury suffered in the end of the Benfica-Paços de Ferreira, on August 30, in the game from matchday 3 of the Liga Bwin, the central defender left words of confidence about the recovery process.

"I am getting better every day, we know it is something very delicate, but the most important thing is to come back well and confident. Benfica's Medical Department is doing everything for that to happen and I will come back stronger for sure", he claimed.
