Benfica hosted and beat Marítimo 5-0, on matchday 7 of the Liga Bwin, bagging their seventh victory in seven games in the competition, the 13th in a row this season. Rafa, Gonçalo Ramos twice, Neres and Draxler scored the goals.

Roger Schmidt has made a change to the starting eleven that Benfica presented in Turin on Wednesday, September 14, against Juventus in the Champions League, launching Aursnes for the first time as a starter in Florentino's place.

Benfica picked up three more points and achieved their seventh win in seven games in the League, leading the standings and maintaining their winning record in all 13 matches this season. The next match of the eagles will be in Guimarães, against Vitória, on October 1st, at 8:30 pm, for matchday 8 of Liga Bwin.
