In the first clash of the calendar year, Benfica hosts an opponent that on the last day of the competition also failed to clinch the three points, defeated at home by Casa Pia by 1-2.
It is the 49th official meeting between the two teams, with Benfica recording 37 wins (77%) against two (4%) for the team from Algarve. Overall, in the 48 matches, Benfica scored 115 goals against 29 from the rival.
The eagles are the best attack of the competition (37 goals) and boast the best defense (10 goals), while Portimonense accumulates a record of 13 goals scored and 16 conceded.
The data collected on the Wyscout platform allows us to see the differences between the formations in various parameters such as ball possession (64.3% against 48.9%), the number of shots (237 against 171), crosses (319 against 241) or passes carried out (8743 against 5333), all favorable to Benfica.
In the defensive chapter, Portimonense is the second team in the competition that allows more shots (215), while Benfica is the one that allows the fewest (86).
The men from the Algarve are the team with the most defensive clashes in the League (1115 against 965), the second with the most ball losses (1557 against 1376), and the most fouls, with 216 fouls (the eagles only committed 174 fouls).
