Awards received at Benfica Campus

At Benfica Campus, Liga Portugal handed out on Wednesday, December 6, two awards for Midfielder of the Month (September and October/November) to João Neves, one for Defender of the Month (October/November) to António Silva and one for Goal of the Month (September) to Kökcü.

In September, João Neves was a starter in three of the four wins amassed in that month (Vitória SC, Vizela, Portimonense and FC Porto) and collected 25.19% of the coaches' votes.

In October and November, the young Made In Benfica midfielder came off the bench against Estoril and then played the full 90 minutes against Casa Pia, Chaves and Sporting, in which he scored the goal that started the Reds' comeback to a 2-1 win. His performances earned him 24.60% of the votes.

Plying the full 90 minutes in the matches held October and November, against Estoril, Casa Pia, Chaves and Sporting, the 20-year-old center-back António Silva scored the winner against the "canarinhos" by 0-1, on matchday 8 of the Liga Betclic.

Defender of the Month for October/November, Benfica's No. 4 collected 14.29% of the votes and had the upper hand in the tie-breaker.

Kökcü was distinguished for the third goal in Benfica's triumph by 4-0 against Vitória SC, on matchday 4 of the Liga Betclic.

In what was his scoring debut with the eagle on his chest, on September 2, 2023, Kökcü's powerful, placed shot from outside the box was the most voted by the supports for Goal of the Month.
