João Neves, a Sport Lisboa e Benfica player, was voted Best Midfielder of the Month in the Liga Betclic 2023/24 in September. The eagles' number 87 got 25.19% of the votes from the competition's head coaches.

A starter in three of the four games played in this period of the competition, João Neves helped Benfica win against Vitória SC (4-0), Vizela (1-2), Portimonense (1-3) and FC Porto (1-0), playing 315 minutes.

The Benfica midfielder João Neves won the most votes among the coaches, beating Makouta (Boavista) and Carlinhos (Portimonense), who received 16.30% and 11.85% of the votes respectively.
