Benfica player João Neves won the Liga Betclic Best Midfielder of the Month award for December. The Eagles' number 87 collected 23.93% of the votes from the managers.

A starter against Moreirense, Farense, Braga and Famalicão, the midfielder has played the full 90 minutes in the last two matches and has played 289 minutes in the four games he has played.

João Neves beat off competition from João Marques, from Estoril (19.66%), and Morita, from Sporting (10.26%), to revalidate the award he had already won in September and in Octuber/November. This is his third consecutive award.
