Cristina Prieto's first year at Benfica proved to be an impactful one. Scorer of 19 goals in 22 matches in the Liga BPI 2024/25, the Spanish international on the women's football team of the five-time national champions was the competition's top scorer, for which she was honored by the Players' Union - and has already received the award.

The goal that sealed the individual achievement came with a special signature. It was on the final day of the Liga BPI, against SC Braga (1-2), that the forward scored her 19th goal in the competition, in the 52nd minute, from the penalty spot, completing the turnaround and helping the Inspiradoras finish the competition undefeated.

Pleased with the distinction, but true to her humility and collective spirit, Cristina Prieto made a point of sharing the merit with the whole group.

"The awards are individual, but it's the work of the group, of the good teammates I have, who make me improve and get these awards. It's really nice, I didn't expect the first year to be like this," she said, speaking to the Players' Union, as she received the individual trophy for Best Goalscorer in the Liga BPI 2024/25.
