BENFICA'S TRAINING SESSION

Benfica's professional football team trained on Monday, June 9, at Waters Sportsplex in Tampa, Florida, in what was their first training session on American soil, in preparation for the 2025 Club World Cup.

Under intense heat, at around 6:15 pm local time (11:15 pm in mainland Portugal), coach Bruno Lage led the group of 20 athletes, under the watchful eye of President Rui Costa.

The working session, marked by commitment, was open to the media for the first 15 minutes. Before it began, Tiago Gouveia expressed the group's ambition for the competition, which starts on June 14.

The Eagles are in Group C of the competition, alongside Argentina's Boca Juniors, New Zealand's Auckland City, and Germany's Bayern Munich.

Benfica's debut in the 2025 Club World Cup is scheduled for 11:00 pm (Mainland Portugal time) on June 16 (Monday) against Boca Juniors at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami.

Newly arrived in the United States, Benfica's professional football team held its first training session on American soil on Monday, June 9, in preparation for the Club World Cup, whose debut against Boca Juniors is scheduled for 11:00 p.m. (Mainland Portugal time) on June 16 (Monday). The first 15 minutes of the session on the pitch at Waters Sportsplex in Tampa were open to the media, and before it began, with 20 players under Bruno Lage's orders, Tiago Gouveia spoke to the journalists.
