Kökcü: Player of the Year also for the Dutch League
A prominent figure in Benfica's midfield at the start of his first season with the eagle on his chest, Orkun Kökcü is still reaping the rewards for his top-level performances at Feyenoord, particularly in the season before he joined the Glorioso. For the Dutch league, based on a vote by the captains of the teams in the competition, the Turkish international was also the Eredivisie Player of the Year for 2022/23, a distinction identical to that which - in the form of the Golden Boot – was awarded to him by a remarkable jury made up of 35 renowned internationals from that country. Two top awards!
