Benfica's U-17 team finished its participation in the Alkass International Cup with a triumph, by 0-3 against Espérance Tunis, which left the team in the 3rd place of the prestigious tournament.

Benfica started the match with Samuel Soares; Tomás Tavares, Alexandre Penetra, Henrique Jocu, Rafael Brito; Bernardo Silva, Nuno Cunha; Hugo Nunes, Gonçalo Ramos and Gonçalo Oliveira.

Before the third-place playoff, the U-17 had beaten Guangzhou Evergrande (4-0), Aspire Academy (7-3) and AC Milan (6-0). In the semi-finals, they lost in the penalty shootout against Kashiwa Reysol (3-3, 4-5, ap).

Preparation on stage for the final

Ruy Castelo Branco, director of the Benfica Residential Academy, and Adriano Laaber, coach of the Benfica Residential Academy women's team, visited the Benfica Campus on Tuesday, May 20, where they had the opportunity to follow the daily activities. "The main objective of the academy is to develop the athlete with the Benfica methodology and combine the academic part with the athletic part," Ruy Castelo Branco told BTV. “Feeling and experiencing this on a daily basis, especially the energy of the Benfica Campus, is enriching,” he said, noting that the goal is to continue cementing the Club's values in the United States.
