Portugal beat, in Tondela, Liechtenstein by 7-0, in a match from the qualifying round for the U-21 European Championship. All the strikes had the Benfica brand.

Rui Jorge fielded seven players linked to the Club as starters: FerroJoão Félix and Heriberto (Benfica B), João Carvalho and Diogo Gonçalves (Benfica), while Yuri Ribeiro and Pedro Rodrigues play at Rio Ave and at Estoril, respectively, on loan from the eagles.

The offensive festival started at festival 7’ with an accurate strike from Diogo Gonçalves; three minutes later, through a penalty kick, João Carvalho extended the lead to 2-0. At 26’ the only goal that was not scored by the eagles. Xadas scored after a pass from the benfiquista Heriberto.

Before the break, there were two more goals. At 30’, Diogo Gonçalves scored the 4-0, and at 45’, in a brilliant technical gesture, João Carvalho scored the 5-0, the result at halftime.

In the second half, Diogo Gonçalves (63’) and João Félix (67’) sealed the rout.
