The Cuban jumper has reached his best personal record of the season in the Diamond League (Lausanne).
07 July 2017, 10h57
The SL Benfica's athlete, Pedro Pablo Pichardo, won the Triple Jump competition in the Lausanne stage of the Diamond League, reaching the best personal result of the season, with 17,60m, in the last attempt, when the triumph was already achieved.
The Cuban obtained, even, the fourth-best mark of the year, only behind Will Claye (17,82 and 17,91) and Christian Taylor (18,11).
In Lausanne, Pichardo left the two Americans behind. Taylor, the second-best ever - with 18,21m, only behind the Jonathan Edwards' 18,29m in 1995 -, jumped 17,49m while his compatriot only jumped 17,12m.
“I feel very well after this competition. It's good to be back, being able to work with my father again and with such a result after being injured for a long time. I thank Benfica, all the team which works with me, for the trust and for giving me the opportunity to compete at the highest level again. My father is very happy, nevertheless, he's very exigent and believes that I have conditions to go further. But we are very happy with the result, mainly for having won against the best athletes of the world. Thank you, Benfica!" said Pablo Pichardo.
Tsanko was 7th with 20,80m
The SL Benfica's athlete, Tsanko Arnaudo, was also in Lausanne, reaching the 7th position (Shot Put), with 20,80 - in the second attempt.
Tsanko's record is 21,56m.
