Pedro Pichardo, the athlete from Sport Lisboa e Benfica, will be present at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games. The jumper from the Reds finished in the 2nd place (17.47 meters) in the triple jump event that took place at the Rome Meeting of the Diamond League, thus securing the qualifying standards for the games.

The 17.47 meters jump corresponds to the best personal mark of the year for the Benfica athlete who finished just three centimeters shy of the 1st place, Omar Craddock (17.50 meters).
