The power forward Alex Suárez was signed by Sport Lisboa e Benfica. To the Official Site, the athlete proved to be ambitious for this new stage abroad.

He is 24 years old, he was nurtured at DKV Joventut and he is a Spain youth international. In the last few seasons, he played in the ABC League representing FIATC Joventut, Dominion Bilbao Basket, Real Madrid and Tecnyconta Zaragoza. In this later club, the player was a teammate of Xavi Rey, who was made official as a Reds’ new signing yesterday (July 30).

In exclusive statements to the Official Site of SL Benfica, the player explained the reasons for this first experience outside the Spanish basketball. “I needed a change in my career. To play at the best Portuguese team and to fight for every title was what convinced me to take this decision”, he said.

Alex Suarez expressed his desire to stay in the history of the Club. “It is a challenge to join the team with more titles in Portugal and I will give my best as a player to be able to win everything this season. I am eager to start and meet all my new colleagues”, stated the athlete.
