After Nuno Tavares and Tiago Dantas, Pedro Álvaro also renewed his contract with the Club until 2024. The young center-half, who made his debut in the first team in the Presentation Match

He arrived in Benfica as a child and on July 10, 2019, he fulfilled one of his dreams by racking up the first few minutes playing for the first team at Estádio da Luz. In the presentation match against Anderlecht, the 19-year-old center-half was one of Bruno Lage's options and came on at 86 minutes.

“It was all very fast, I arrive at the club when I was 12 and time flew. Recently, I had the opportunity to fulfill a dream and it was excellent. Above all, I felt very fulfilled, because Benfica is and has always been my favorite Club, any child who likes Benfica has the dream of one day playing at Estádio da Luz, so it was an excellent day, I came on and I was happy”, confessed the player to BTV.

Pedro Álvaro renewed his contract until 2024. The center-back guaranteed that the contract renewal is not a cause for additional pressure, but a sign of the Club’s trust in youngsters nurtured at Caixa Futebol Campus.

“It does not put more pressure on me, we already have pressure just for playing at Benfica. Above all, I am happy, you can tell the club is investing and believing in us. I’m going to focus on my work and do my best. I have many dreams, one of those dreams already came true, which was to make my debut at Estádio da Luz”, he told.
