🎥 Gedson: 50 matches in the eagles' first team

Made his official debut with the first team of SL Benfica on August 7, 2018, at Estádio da Luz, in the 1^st leg of the Champions League qualifiers. The eagles beat Fenerbahçe, 1-0 with a goal by Cervi, and Gedson was a starter, playing the 90 minutes… Since then, 50 matches with the first team and the same ambition.

50 matches: A childhood dream

“I was not expecting to play 50 matches so quickly. It’s a childhood dream. It’s a very important achievement for me and I hope to do much more.”

The first official match with the first team A: August 7, 2018

“It was an important match for me, a different competition, a dream for any kid, a match not to forget where the team was very well.”

The first goal: August 14, 2018, in Istanbul… in the Champions League!

“I will keep all the memories always in my heart, just like the first match with the Benfica jersey 11 years ago and all the matches I play with this jersey.”

50 matches with an assist

“It was a great performance of the entire team. We reached our goal [to beat Cova da Piedade in Round 3 of the Portuguese Cup]. I didn’t know it was the match number 50. The assist [for Vinícius’ second goal] was the fruit of the team’s work.”
