Equipment of great urgency for those in the front line in the fight against the pandemic.

At a time when Portugal and the world are fighting the COVID-19 pandemic, the players of SL Benfica's professional football squad score decisive goals in support of solidarity. Together, they have now amassed a sum that has made it possible to purchase thousands of materials to offer to the National Health Service (NHS).

The donation of the Sport Lisboa e Benfica professionals allowed the purchase of 51 thousand masks, 540 thousand pairs of gloves, 750 special protective glasses, 750 thermal suits, and 200 infrared thermometers, materials of extraordinary utility and relevance to the NHS.

Equipment and medical and hospital protection material, of enormous urgency for those in the front line of this global fight against the pandemic, will arrive in Lisbon in the coming days, together with the material that was acquired thanks to the donation of one million euros made by the Club on March 20.

Present when it comes to the defense of the noblest values of life and human beings, the football professionals of the Club, in partnership with the Benfica Foundation, had recently donated 5,5 tons of food to Comunidade Vida e Paz, an organization that has been providing support to homeless or socially vulnerable people in Lisbon for many years.
