Benfica had the upper hand in the clash against Vitória de Guimarães in the quarterfinal of the League Cup at Estádio da Luz. The 90 minutes ran out with draw (1-1), and in the penalty shootout the eagles were 100 percent competent (4-1) and qualified for the final four.

With nerves of steel in the penalty shootout, Benfica qualified for the final four of the 2020/21 League Cup, that will take place between January 16 and 23, 2021, at the Estádio Dr. Magalhães Pessoa, in Leiria.

On Sunday, there is a new match for the Liga NOS. The team coached by Jorge Jesus travels to Barcelos to face Gil Vicente (5:30 pm) on matchday 10 of the Portuguese top flight.
