Benfica Newcastle Henrique Araújo Eusébio Cup

Henrique Araújo stepped onto the pitch at 75', when the Benfica-Newcastle match was 2-2 on the scoreboard, and, at 89', scored the goal that gave the victory to the eagles, by 3-2, leading the team to win the 11^th edition of the Eusébio Cup.

"It's always good. It's good for the player to score goals and as a striker, I like to score goals, but the most important thing was to win this match at home, the Stadium was almost full, with many Benfiquistas watching", commented the striker.

Speaking to BTV, also stressed the value of ending the 2022/23 pre-season with Benfica winning its fourth Eusébio Cup trophy.

"Although it is a pre-season friendly, it is the Eusébio Cup. We know how important it is for the Club, for the figure that Eusébio was and is. It was important to win this match, knowing that the main thing is to gain routines as a team, which was what we wanted to do in the pre-season. Winning is always important and it was a good culmination of the pre-season," he assured.
